This summer theater simple is going on a journey in our own back yard, and we’d like YOU to take part! GERDA’S JOURNEY (based on Hans Christian Andersen’s tale THE SNOW QUEEN) is a story of a young girl and her quest to find her lost friend, Kai. In this site-specific production by theater simple, the audience will literally go on Gerda’s adventure with her, following her and other characters as the play moves through the Carl S. English, Jr. The Botanical Garden. We are looking for community members interested in participating in this theatrical park adventure. We're looking for performers as well as behind the scenes folks. *Acting experience is useful, but not required. Interested? Email me at gerdasjourney@gmail.com

There seems not to be much advertisement about the upcoming meeting re a new Ballard Park: From last Friday's Seattle Times: "Ballard property sought for new park" The city of Seattle wants to buy property in Ballard to build a new neighborhood park at 7028 Ninth Ave. NW. Pro Parks Levy funds would be used to make the $3 million purchase, which requires City Council approval. The park would be 39,000 square feet and the city would apply for county and state grants to develop the park. The parks department will hold a community meeting to discuss the purchase from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 27 at the Ballard Boys and Girls Club, 1767 NW 64th St.

People might actually have to pay attention to the highway now. A new law that bans the stupid idea of texting your fliphone or pda and trying to drive at the same time. Distracted driving kills people and causes a high amount of accidents and traffic snarl. The super convinient dependent society is to blame for so many people to rely on texting, yacking, and blabbing on their cellphone while driving even though its a dumb thing to do and you sometimes end up in a confused mess
